We like to look at clients’ needs holistically, so when we are assessing your needs, we will look at all areas of your lifestyle.  Neurological diseases affect everyone differently, so we offer a range of different assessments which can be used to help achieve the right level of support and funding.

From Functional Capacity Assessments to Home Safety Assessments, you can rely on us to provide all the right paperwork and reports to support your claim and assist you to get the help you need.

Specialist Technology
– Communication & Suction Devices

We can help you access specialist technology to help overcome some of the common issues associated with MND, MS or Cerebral Palsy. Our specialist knowledge of progressive neurological conditions can help you get the equipment you need quickly and efficiently.

Our Occupational Therapists can work with your Speech Pathologists and assist with the prescription of various communication devices such as eye gaze trackers.  We can also make recommendations and link you with the appropriate allied health professionals to help with swallowing and breathing and a range of other specialist equipment to make daily living easier.

Wheelchair Seating Assessments

Wheelchairs are custom designed to suit the users’ requirements and our Occupational Therapists are trained in fitting and measuring clients for wheelchairs.  When we fit you for a wheelchair, we’ll do a complete musculoskeletal examination to determine your range of motion, joint flexibility and muscle strength to ensure we maximise comfort and mobility whilst minimising the risk of pressure injuries.

Pressure Care Management

Our pressure care management plans aim to minimise, prevent and manage pressure injuries such as ulcers, bedsores and pressure sores. Pressure injuries occur when the weight of the body compresses the skin and underlying tissues against the bone and can be caused by staying in the same position for prolonged periods.

Multidisciplinary Approach

We’ll develop a comprehensive plan and work with you, your support team and allied health providers to deliver a tailored pressure care plan, to reduce your risks and manage any existing wounds.  We’ll educate you and your carers on strategies to prevent injury, relieve pressure and manage existing pressure sores along with prescribing specific aids and equipment to help.

Hospital Discharge Planning

Our Occupational Therapists will liaise with the hospital teams to ensure a safe and smooth transition from hospital to home.  We’ll make sure all the right equipment, follow up care and community assistance are put in place before you arrive home to help with your ongoing treatment and recovery.

Rapid & Responsive OT Service

Our Occupational Therapists are skilled and experienced health professionals who genuinely care about empowering you to achieve your goals.  We pride ourselves on our rapid and responsive service and have a large team of builders and assistive technology specialists to ensure we can get your assistive technology and home modifications done quickly and effectively to improve your quality of life.

Equipment Hire

For your ease and convenience, Trelity Health has a limited range of specialist equipment for hire.  Before hiring any equipment, we’ll need to complete a quick Occupational Therapy assessment, other allied health assessment or Registered Nurse input to ensure the equipment is suitable for your needs. Trelity Health offers a range of equipment for hire including lifters, suction devices and communication devices to give you rapid access to assistive technology or let you try before you buy.

Lifters

Our range of lifters, including the Raizer Lifter and Camel Lifter are ideal for lifting a person from the floor after a fall.  These lifters are lightweight, portable and fully automated and only require a single person to operate.  Lifters are battery powered and can help a person to their feet in a matter of minutes without any physical exertion or risk of injury to both the user and operator.

Raizer Lifter

The Raizer Lifter is a portable chair lift suitable for lifting people up to 150kg.  The main lifting device is placed underneath the knees and the supports effortlessly slide underneath the fallen person to create a chair lift. The Raizer lifter supports the entire body during the lift and raises the fallen person in a safe, dignified, and comfortable way.

Camel Lifter

The Camel Lifter is a portable inflatable chair lifter suitable for lifting people up to 320kg.  It is lightweight (just 6.5kg), portable and suitable for indoor and outdoor use.  To use the lift simply attach the leads and roll the lifter out alongside the fallen person. Slide the person onto the lift and inflate to raise the person to a comfortable seated position.

Communication Devices

Trelity Health offers a range of communication devices to help people with limited muscle function and/or limited voice control to communicate and operate a computer.  Our eye gaze technology allows the user to operate a computer, laptop, iPad or speech device using their eyes instead of a mouse or keyboard.

Suction Devices

Suction devices are used to help clear the oral or nasal cavities of excess secretions and are ideal for patients who have difficulty swallowing and breathing.

Hire periods

We can offer short or longer-term hire options. The minimum hire period is 4 weeks, and all prices include delivery and collection. For your safety and wellbeing, all items are thoroughly cleaned and sterilised ready for hire.
